The Journey
Welcome and Onboarding
Start aligned and be ready.

Before we dive in, you’ll join a live onboarding to meet your cohort, set goals, and get oriented. Together, we’ll complete the AI Capability Assessment, surface your priorities, and create a shared language so every session connects directly to your real work. If you’re brand new to AI, you’ll also get a fast-track primer on the basics — so everyone begins on the same page.

By the end of Onboarding, you will:

  • Be connected with your cohort and clear on your goals.
  • Have a baseline AI Capability Assessment to track progress.
  • Be equipped with a primer on AI basics (if needed) so you’re ready to accelerate.
Week 1: Foundations
Build Clarity and Confidence. Fast.

See exactly what AI can (and can’t) do for your nonprofit role — from fundraising to comms to program design. You’ll start with quick wins you can use right away, then move into the principles and habits that separate effective AI users from the dabblers. Along the way, you’ll practice spotting high-value use cases, learn prompting basics, and explore nonprofit examples that show what’s possible.

By the end of Week 1, you will:

  • Have 3–5 quick wins tied directly to your work.
  • Know the difference between gimmicky use and game-changing impact.
  • Start your personal “AI Wins Log” to track progress and build habits.
Week 2: Building Workflows
From Experiments to Results.

Now it’s about depth. We’ll take one of your real tasks — writing a donor appeal, analyzing survey data, drafting policy briefs, or building a content calendar — and turn it into a repeatable AI workflow. You’ll design better prompts, create reusable templates, and test simple custom GPTs if relevant. The focus is on leaving with something practical, not theoretical: a working AI workflow that saves time and raises quality.

By the end of Week 2, you will:

  • Have one fully built workflow ready to use in your role.
  • Know how to adapt it for 2–3 other tasks in your work.
  • Gain confidence using advanced features to extend your results.
Week 3: Making It Stick
Embed Your AI System.

The final step is about making change last. You’ll codify what you built into a simple AI Playbook you can use every day, then map out a 90-day plan for expanding into more use cases. Together we’ll practice nonprofit-specific guardrails for ethics, privacy, equity, and donor trust, so you feel confident using AI responsibly. You’ll leave with the structure and mindset to keep AI alive in your work, long after the immersion ends.

By the end of Week 3, you will:

  • Have a personal AI Playbook tailored to your workflows.
  • A realistic 90-day roadmap with calendar-aligned actions.
  • The confidence to explain AI’s value to your team and leaders.

Testimonials

dddc

Unlike any other professional, or leadership course I have participated in. Cohesive group, well facilitated and the learnings structured but held loosely enough to allow for flexibility. I highly recommend PLAI  to leaders, teams and those wanting to build curiosity and creativity within their organizations.

dddc

From day one I realized this was different...and it was going to challenge me, welcome me and support me. Highly engaging, practical and informative. Smooth, confident facilitation, while deeply approachable and personable. The right language, frameworks, tools and mindset for a different way of being and doing.

dddc

It was truly a wonderful restructuring experience for my work but also personal front. I have thought about the key lessons almost everyday, reflecting in silence and embarking upon a process of becoming a better and more effective person and professional.

dddc

A rare mix of bold challenge and deep care. I left not just with leadership tools, but with a new way of seeing myself and my role. Practical, stretching, and profoundly human. The PLAI team made complex ideas accessible and actionable. I walked away with both a strategy and the confidence to lead it.

dddc

What stood out? The mix of rigorous insight and empathy.  I’ve sat through a dozen AI workshops, but this was different. Thoughtfully designed, ethically grounded, and laser-focused on impact. The combination of structure and openness created the conditions for breakthroughs I didn’t expect.

dddc

What surprised me most was how quickly fear turned into excitement. The sessions helped our team reframe AI from confusion to possibility. Generous, challenging, and beautifully designed. The PLAI team made AI feel less like a black box and more like a canvas.
